Vcds windows based vag vas emulator running on windows 10 x64. vcds version: 17.8.0.1 (x64) data version: 20170721 ds276.2. ross tech . last week i attempted to connect it again and run it via vcds (version 18.1 this had been auto updated by itself) but it barfed with an error: ross tech usb interface not found!. To do the firmware update, the interface must be plugged up to a car when doing the port test. with vcds 11.11.4, the firmware version is updated to 1.92 for the hex usb can interfaces. if needed, the port test will mention an update is required, and when you click [ok], a new window with an [update] button will appear. Vag com 12.12 interface not found problem solution share from ebdtool . problem may caused by: vag com 12.12 interface vcds 12.12 software connect to internet after installation, and caused driver updated . solution: uninstall all related software, and download the software below. and reinstall the software . software download link. If, for some reason, you installed the usb interface without following the above instructions, and vcds does not work correctly, go into your pc’s device manager while the usb interface is connected. you can find the device manager by right clicking on my computer in xp or on computer in vista or 7. select manage to bring up computer management. Plug vagcom cable into any usb port. windows will install drivers automatically. if driver install fails, skip to troubleshooting. step 3: disable internet & launch vcds software. golden rule: must disconnect from internet everytime before launching vcds, else will say 'interface not found'. also, do not update the software. read golden rule above?. Plug your ross tech usb interface to your pc's usb port. (it is not necessary to connect the interface to the vehicle yet) 'found new hardware wizard' will start. choose 'install from a list or specific location (advanced)' on the next screen: select 'search for the best driver in these locations' check 'include this location in the search:'.
